According to oddsmakers, the Patriots are 10.5-point road favorites versus the Dolphins. New England opened as 12-point road favorites before the line dropped. As for the total, the number hit the board at 48.5 but was bet down to 48.
New England enters play with a 10-2 record and a 5-0 mark on the road. The Patriots are 8-4 against the spread and 4-1 ATS on the road. For Miami, the Dolphins are 4-6 against the spread and 5-7 overall. They’re 3-2 SU and 2-1 ATS at home this season.
New England Patriots Injury Report
The Patriots will not have tight end Rob Gronkowski, who is suspended for tonight. That said, receiver Chris Hogan (shoulder) should return, as he is probable. Cornerback Stephon Gilmore is also probable despite dealing with an ankle injury.
Kyle Van Noy, meanwhile, is out with a calf injury. Dion Lewis (illness) and LaAdrian Waddle (ankle) are both questionable for tonight.
Miami Dolphins Injury Report
William Hayes (knee), Ndamukong Suh (knee) and Mike Pouncey (hamstring) are all probable. Jermon Bushrod (foot), however, is out, as are Ja’Wuan James (hamstring) and Nate Allen (calf).
Our Prediction
The Patriots have covered the spread in five of their last six games against the Dolphins. They are also a perfect 5-0 at the betting window in their last five games played in December. In their last 16 road games, the Pats are 13-3 against the spread.
On the other side, the Dolphins have struggled to cover of late. They’re 0-3-1 against the spread in their last four divisional games. They’re 1-4-2 at the betting window in their last seven games. They’re also winless at 0-8 against the number in their last eight games played on Monday.
