Will Auburn rout Ole Miss today when the SEC foes clash at 12:00 p.m. ET?
The Matchup: Ole Miss (2-2) at Auburn (4-1)
The Rebels enter play this afternoon with a 2-2 record but have failed to cover the spread in all four of their games. The Tigers, meanwhile, are 4-1 straight up and 2-2 at the betting window.
According to oddsmakers, the Tigers are 22.5-point home favorites this afternoon. The Rebels opened as 21-point road underdogs but the line has been bet up. As for the total, the number hit the board at 56.5 but has been bet down to 56.
Ole Miss Rebels
The Rebels have several players questionable with injuries, including defensive end Qaadir Sheppard (ankle). Kicker Gary Wunderlich is also questionable with a hamstring injury and defensive lineman Garrald McDowell has a knee ailment. Meanwhile, offensive lineman Sean Rawlings is probable with an ankle injury. Center Eli Johnson (knee) is out for the season.
Auburn Tigers
The only starter that is out for Auburn is Byron Cowart, who is out for the season after leaving the program. He cited his lack of playing time and a health issue that his mother is dealing with as reasons he left. Receiver JaTarvious Whitlow (ankle) is also out.
The Pick
The Tigers have been outstanding defensively this season. They’re the only team in the nation yet to allow more than 14 points in a game this season. Offensively, quarterback Jarrett Stidham is growing more comfortable in Gus Malzahn’s offense by the week. Auburn has seemingly settled in on a starting five up front as well, after shuffling its offensive line early in the season.
Ole Miss, meanwhile, has received inconsistent play from Shea Patterson, who lit up South Alabama and Tennessee-Martin but struggled on the road versus Cal and Alabama. The Rebels have no running game and they have yet to score a point off a turnover this season. They have also allowed 38 points off turnovers, so that is a major area of concern for Ole Miss.
