NFL: Titans vs. Steelers Predictions Against the Spread 11/16/17
Will the Pittsburgh Steelers cover as a touchdown-sized favorite tonight when they host the Tennessee Titans at 8:25 p.m. ET?
The Odds: Titans at Steelers, 8:25 p.m. ET, Thursday
According to oddsmakers, Pittsubrgh opened as a 6.5-point home favorite but the line was bet up to 7. As for the total, the number hit the board at 43.5 but was bet up to 44.
Tennessee enters play with a 6-3 record and is 2-2 on the road this season, while Pittsburgh is 7-2 overall and 2-1 at home. From a betting standpoint, the Titans are just 3-5-1 against the spread and 1-3 ATS on the road. The Steelers, meanwhile, are 5-4 against the number and 2-1 against the spread at home.
Tennessee Titans
From Rotoworld: Marcus Mariota emerged from the Titans’ Week 10 win with a sore left (non-throwing) shoulder and “mild” ankle sprain. These are typical in-game football injuries. Mariota was officially listed as “limited” on Monday’s practice report. Coach Mike Mularkey confirmed Mariota will be “good to go” for Thursday Night Football against the Steelers.
Delanie Walker (wrist) has been removed from the Week 11 injury report and will play Thursday night against the Steelers. Marcus Mariota (shoulder, ankle) was also taken off the injury report and will start, as expected. Walker gets a real tough draw against a strong defense
Pittsburgh Steelers
Vance McDonald (ankle) is questionable for Week 11 against the Titans. Mike Mitchell (ankle) and James Harrison (back) are also questionable while Joe Haden has been ruled out with a fractured fibula. McDonald caught his first touchdown of the year in Sunday’s win over Indianapolis but has been absent from practice the last two days. If he sits, it would open up more snaps for Jesse James.
Our Prediction
I like the Steelers at home, where they’re 3-1-1 against the spread in their lsat four games. They’re also 5-1 against the number in their last six games versus an opponent with a winning record and are 3-1-1 at the betting window in their last five games played on Thursday.
The Titans, meanwhile, are just 17-35-1 against the spread versus a team with a winning record. They’ve also failed to cover in 20 of their last 27 games on the road. They’re just 11-37-4 against the number in their last 52 conference games as well.
Thursday Night NFL Prediction: Pittsburgh Steelers -7
