Mariners vs Rangers

Will the Mariners pick up a road victory tonight when they visit the Rangers tonight at 8:05PM ET?

The Matchup: Mariners vs. Rangers, 8:05PM ET, Globe Life Park in Arlington

According to oddsmakers, Seattle is a -107 money line favorite to knock of Texas tonight. That makes the Rangers a -103 money line underdog to pull off the small upset. As for the total, the number hit the board at 11 runs and that’s where it currently sits.

The Pitching Matchup: Mike Leake (SEA) vs. Martin Perez (TEX)

Leake allowed just three runs (two earned) in six innings of work last Friday in a win over the Angels. Leake has now won both of his outings with Seattle and both of which are quality starts. On the season, the veteran is 9-12 and owns a 4.10 ERA over 167 innings of work.

Perez surrendered five runs (two earned) over 5 2/3 innings in last week’s 11-5 win over the Yankees. He gave up eight hits and a walk while hitting two batters, but Perez received plenty of support from his offense. Perez has now won each of his last seven starts. Still, his ERA sits at 4.81.

Our Prediction:

The Mariners are 11-5 in their last 16 games against the Rangers overall. They’re also 6-1 in their last seven games versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.

On the other side, the Rangers have dropped nine of their last 13 games versus a right-handed starter. They’re also 1-4 in their last five home games versus a right-handed starter and have dropped four of their last five games when playing the third game of a series.

Wednesday MLB Prediction: Seattle Mariners -107
