Twins’ Gibson allows two runs in loss to Angels

Kyle Gibson let in two runs in seven innings and was charged with a loss to the Angels on Saturday. Gibson surrendered just five hits but two of them left the yard. All the damage to the scoreboard came on solo home runs by Ian Kinsler and Albert Pujols. This is the sort of tough luck Gibson has encountered all season. He’s pitched well but has just one win to show for it. He falls to 1-4 with a 3.45 ERA and 1.19 WHIP through 13 starts. His next chance to right the ship comes on Friday against the Indians.

Indians’ Kluber gets 10th win in win over Tigers

Corey Kluber allowed two runs over eight innings in a 9-2 victory over the Tigers on Sunday. He struck out eight and didn’t allow a walk. Kluber now has 10 wins on the season to go with just two losses. The defending Cy Young winner had only one real blemish; a solo shot by Leonys Martin in the sixth inning, and he allowed and RBI groundout to Martin a few innings earlier. Outside of that, Kluber was his usual dominant self, and his 1.99 ERA and 0.83 WHIP speak to how good he’s been in 2018. Kluber is back on the mound on Friday when he faces the Twins in Cleveland.

MLB Betting Trends

Minnesota

The Twins are 5-1 in Gibson’s last six road starts versus the Indians and are 4-1 in their last five games versus Cleveland overall.

Cleveland

The Indians are 46-17 in Kluber’s last 63 starts and are 35-16 in his last 51 home outings.

Prediction:

The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams in Cleveland. In the last 17 meetings between these two teams, the under cashed 12 times. Finally, the under is 6-2 in Kluber’s last eight starts versus the Twins. With Cleveland’s ace in Kluber on the mound and Gibson coming off a solid start, the under should be a safe play tonight.

The Pick: Twins/Indians under 7.5
