OKLAHOMA
Oklahoma claimed the conference title in 2016 by going 9-0 in conference play. The Sooners were 11-2 overall. They had big news in the offseason as Bob Stoops retired somewhat out of nowhere, leaving the keys to Lincoln Riley, who has yet to be a head coach. The Sooners have won 46 conference titles in program history and the Sooners are the two-time defending Big 12 champs.
OKLAHOMA STATE
Oklahoma State was 10-3 last season with a 7-2 record in the Big 12. The Cowboys are looking to win just their second Big 12 title, with the first championship coming back in the 2011 season. As a program, Oklahoma State has won just 10 conference championships.
TEXAS
Texas was just 5-7 last season with a 3-6 mark in the Big 12. The Longhorns parted ways with Charlie Strong in the offseason and hired Houston’s Tom Herman to take over. He will be tasked with trying to win the school’s 33rd conference championship. Texas last won the Big 12 in 2009.
KANSAS STATE
Kansas State was 9-4 in the 2016 season with a 6-3 mark in the Big 12. The Wildcats have only claimed six conference titles in their program history. The last championship came in the 2012 season. Kansas State will once again be led by legendary coach Bill Snyder.
