College Basketball Predictions: Will West Virginia upset Oklahoma?

College Basketball Predictions

Will No. 12 Oklahoma bounce back at home tonight when the Sooners play host to No. 15 West Virginia at 9PM ET? Here’s our College Basketball Predictions for this featured game.

ODDS

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Oklahoma is the slight favorite at home, as the Sooners are getting odds of -2.5 points against West Virginia. The over/under total for the game is listed at 168 points. Tonight’s contest will be taking place from the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma and will air live on ESPN.

OKLAHOMA

Oklahoma is coming off a 79-74 loss at Texas this weekend for its fourth loss in six games. However, all four losses came on the road. The Sooners are 16-6 overall, 6-4 in the Big 12 and 8-13 against the spread. Oklahoma is averaging 89.9 points per game on offense while allowing 82 per contest. At home, Oklahoma is putting up 97.5 points per game. Trae Young is averaging 29.8 points and 9.7 assists per game to lead the team. He struggled at Texas, scoring just 19 points on 7 of 22 shooting. He has put up 40 or more in two of his last three home games.

WEST VIRGINIA

West Virginia is coming off an 89-51 win at home over Kansas State to snap a three-game losing streak. WVU is now 17-6 overall, 6-4 in the Big 12 and 9-10 against the spread. The Mountaineers are putting up 81 points per game on offense while allowing just 67 per game. On the road, WVU is allowing 75.8 per game. Jevon Carter is leading West Virginia with 16.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game this season while Sagaba Konate is adding 10.5 points and 8 rebounds per game.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL PREDICTIONS

West Virginia has won three of its last four meetings with Oklahoma, including an 89-76 win at home on Jan. 6. The Sooners are a great team at home and not so good on the road. Today, Oklahoma is at home and I like the Sooners for that reason. Young plays much better at home and they are 11-0 straight up. West Virginia is just 3-3 on the road this year, losing their last three. I expect Young to bounce back and have a great game at home as the Sooners earn a big win. The public betting is backing Oklahoma as well.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL PREDICTIONS: OKLAHOMA -2.5
