College Basketball Predictions: Can Santa Clara upset USC? 12/14/17

College Basketball Predictions

Will USC be able to pull away from Santa Clara when the two meet up tonight at 10PM ET? Here’s our College Basketball Predictions for tonight’s contest.

ODDS

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, USC is favored at home, as the Trojans are getting odds of -15 points against Santa Clara. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 141 points. Tonight’s game takes place from the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California and will air live on the Pac-12 Network.

USC

USC is coming off an 85-83 loss to Oklahoma last week for its third straight loss. The Trojans are now 4-3 on the season while posting a 4-3 record against the spread as well. USC is scoring 76.7 points per game on offense while giving up 70.1 per contest on defense. Chimezie Metu is leading the team with 15.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while Bennie Boatwright is adding 14.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.

SANTA CLARA

Santa Clara is coming off an 87-84 loss to Portland State last weekend to fall to 3-6 on the season. The Broncos are 1-6 against the spread after failing to cover in the loss to Portland State. Santa Clara is averaging 69.3 points per game on offense this season while allowing 71.3 per game on defense. The Broncos are being led by KJ Feagin, who averages 18.9 points per game on offense. Henry Caruso is adding 13.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL PREDICTIONS

USC won its last meeting with Santa Clara back in 2010, covering an 8.5-point spread in the process. USC has managed to cover in seven straight against West Coast Conference opponents. The Trojans have lost three straight, but those were to pretty respectable teams. They had covered eight straight as a program prior to that. Facing a lacking team like Santa Clara should help USC get back on track. The public betting is strongly with USC and I expect the Trojans to roll.
