NFL Predictions: Will Colts pull off upset vs. Broncos? 12/14/17
Will the Indianapolis Colts pull off a small upset tonight when they host the Denver Broncos? Kickoff for tonight’s matchup is set for 8:25 p.m. ET.
The Odds: Broncos at Colts, 8:25 p.m. ET, Indianapolis
According to oddsmakers, the Colts are 2.5-point home underdogs versus the Broncos. Indy opened as a 3-point home underdog earlier in the week before the line dropped. As for the total, the number hit the board at 41.5 but is now down to 40.5.
Denver heads into tonight’s game with a 4-9 record and an 0-6 mark on the road. Indianapolis, meanwhile, is now 3-10 on the year and 2-4 at home. From a betting standpoint, the Broncos are 3-9 against the spread and 0-6 ATS on the road. The Colts are 6-7 at the betting window but 4-2 against the spread at home.
Denver Broncos Injury Report
Safety Justin Simmons (ankle) is out for the year while nose tackle Domata Peko (knee) is probable. Ron Leary (back), Derek Wolfe (neck), Paxton Lynch (ankle) and Jared Crick (back) are all out.
Indianapolis Colts Injury Report
Ryan Kelly (concussion), Donte Moncrief (ankle), Henry Anderson (throat), Malik Hooker (knee) and Jack Mewhort (knee) are all out for the Colts.
Our Prediction
The Broncos have failed to cover in nine of their last 10 games versus the Colts. They’re also winless at 0-6 against the number in their last six games in Indianapolis. The underdog, meanwhile, is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams.
I just don’t trust the Broncos despite looking like world-beaters last Sunday versus the Jets. Denver is just 1-8 against the spread in its last nine games overall. The Broncos are winless at 0-8 against the spread in their last eight road games. They’re also 1-6 at the betting window in their last six conference games.
I’m going with the team that has been more competitive this season, which is the Colts, who are 32-14 against the spread in their last 46 games coming off a loss.
