Clippers vs. Trail Blazers NBA Picks Against the Spread 10/26/17
Will the Trail Blazers cover as a small home favorite when they host the Clippers at 10:00PM ET?
The Odds: Clippers at Trail Blazers, 10:00PM ET, Thursday
According to oddsmakers, Portland is a 2.5-point home favorite versus Los Angeles tonight. The Clippers opened as a 2.5-point underdog so the side hasn’t moved at all. That said, the total has dropped from 216 all the way down to 211.5.
Los Angeles is undefeated on the season at 3-0 and is a perfect 3-0 against the spread, too. Portland, meanwhile, is 3-1 overall and 3-0-1 at the betting window, so something has to give tonight.
Los Angeles Clippers
Blake Griffin scored 22 points in Tuesday’s 102-84 win over the Jazz, improving the Clippers to 3-0 on the season. With Milos Teodosic (foot) out indefinitely, the Clippers will be running even more offense through the big man. He flirted with a triple-double tonight, grabbing nine rebounds with six assists, one block and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes, hitting 8-of-17 shots and 4-of-6 free throws. The Jazz are one of the toughest matchups for opposing big men, making this line for Griffin even more impressive. He also put Rudy Gobert on a poster (link below), and we’ll be seeing plenty more highlight jams if his health cooperates.
Portland Trail Blazers
Damian Lillard got off to a dreadful start on Tuesday, going 0-for-9 from the floor, and didn’t score his first point until the third quarter. He finished with 13 points, five boards, seven dimes, a steal, one 3-pointer and six turnovers in the win over the Pelicans.
Lillard hit some big shots late and made his 3000th field goal. Obviously, he’s fine and should be ready to bounce back against the Clippers on Thursday night. On a side note, the Blazers won their 17th straight home opener, which is an NBA record.
Our Prediction
The Trail Blazers have covered the spread in nine of their last 12 home games. They’re also 18-7-1 against the number in their last 26 games overall. In their last 16 games coming off a win, the Blazers are 12-3-1 at the betting window.
Thursday NBA Prediction: Portland Trail Blazers -2.5
