Public Betting Information

Boston opened as a 2.5-point home favorite for tonight’s Game 7 and while some books list the Celtics at -3, the spread at most places is still 2.5. The total, meanwhile, sits at 199.5 points, down from the original number of 201.5. As of this writing, 54% of betting tickets wagered at online sports books are on the Celtics to cover the spread.

Cavs’ Coach Lue not concerned about LeBron

Coach Ty Lue says he’s not concerned about LeBron James for Sunday night’s Game 7.

Really going out on a limb there, coach Lue. Kidding aside, there’s been some talk about LeBron being tired before Friday, but all those concerns were put to bed after an epic performance.

The over/under on LeBron’s minutes tomorrow is probably 47.5 with Kevin Love now out. LeBron likely would’ve played all but 57 seconds last night, but the game got to garbage time to keep him out for the final 57 seconds.

Celtics’ rookie star Tatum evaluated following Game 6

Jayson Tatum was evaluated by doctors on Saturday, and there’s no concern of a concussion. He felt great after the game and today, as well. “Nothing there to be concerned about,” coach Brad Stevens said. Tatum did take some contact to his head from the Kevin Love collision and he didn’t look like himself for about half the game, so the team will evaluate him again before Game 7 on Sunday. For now, expect him to get 36-40 minutes in Game 7.

Betting Trends

Cleveland

The Cavs are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games against the Celtics in Boston. The under is also 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Boston.

Boston

The home team is a perfect 6-0 against the number in the last six meetings between these two teams. The favorite has cashed in five straight meetings between these two teams as well.

Our Prediction

This series has been easy to predict and bet on assuming you were ahead of the curve. Take the home team. That’s about it. I’m not going to go away from that trend either, despite the fact that I’ll be betting against LeBron to do so.

Cleveland’s role players have not stepped up in Boston like they have at home and we’ve see LeBron go for 40-plus and the Cavs still lose because he doesn’t have help. The Celtics are 19-7 at the betting window in their last 26 home games while the Cavs are 8-18 ATS in their last 26 road contests versus a team with a winning home record. I’ve got the Celtics advacing to the NAB Finals.

NBA Eastern Conference Finals Game 7 Prediction: Boston Celtics -2.5
