NHL Predictions

Can the St. Louis Blues hold off the surging Los Angeles Kings when the two 9-win teams meet up tonight at 8PM ET? Here’s our NHL Predictions for this contest.

ODDS

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Blues are favored at home, as they are getting to odds of -130 to win. The Kings are listed with a money line of +110 to prevail while the over/under total has been set at 5.5 goals. Tonight’s game takes place from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

KINGS

The Kings are coming off a 2-1 OT win at Boston on Saturday, their third straight victory. Los Angeles is 9-1-1 on the season and 5-1 on the road. Los Angeles is putting up 3.36 goals per game this season while allowing just 1.82 per game. Anze Kopitar has seven goals and six assists to lead the team while Adrian Kempe has scored six goals. Jonathan Quick has seven wins in net this year and has a 1.76 GAA with a .946 save percentage.

Jake Allen is 6-2-1 in net this year with a 2.51 GAA and a .920 save percentage.

NHL PREDICTIONS

The Blues have won four of their last five meetings in this series. The Blues have also been dominant at home. St. Louis has won their last three home games by three goals each. While the Kings are doing well on the road, I think the Blues will be able to slow them down. The Blues are steady in all three periods and especially tough on defense in the opening period. The public is behind the Blues tonight and I am sticking with the home team.
