Will tonight’s Twins and Giants interleague matchup fall under the betting total at 10:15PM ET?
The Odds: Twins vs. Giants, 10:15PM ET, AT&T Park
According to oddsmakers, the Giants are -119 money line favorites to win tonight’s game. The Twins, meanwhile, is currently sitting at +110 to pull off the upset. As for the total, the number currently sits at 8.
The Pitching Matchup: Ervin Santana (MIN) vs. Matt Moore (SF)
Santana allowed seven earned runs, seven hits and walked three while recording just two strikeouts in his last outing. That start came last Saturday at the Angels as Santana surrendered three home runs, including Albert Pujols’ historic grand slam for his 600th home run. Santana threw just 48 of his last 82 pitches for strikes as his ERA rose from 1.75 to 2.44.
Moore struggled in a no-decision against the Phillies on Sunday. He allowed five runs, four earned, on six hits over his four innings of work. He also issued a pair of walks while striking out just one batter on the afternoon. The Phillies produced a pair of run-scoring doubles in the first inning and a two-run blast from Freddy Galvis in the second frame.
Our Prediction
The under is 11-4-1 in Santana’s last 16 starts overall. It is also 21-8-1 in his last 30 road starts and 12-4-2 in his last 18 outings when he pitches the first game of a series. For the twins, the under has cashed in five of their last six interleague games.
On the other side, the under is a perfect 5-0 in Moore’s last five home starts. It is also 5-2 in his last seven outings coming off four days of rest and is 4-0 in his last four home outings versus a team with a winning record.
