College Football Week 12 Predictions Against the Spread 11/18/17

College Football Week 12 Predictions

Looking for help handicapping the Week 12 action in college football? Here are my college football Week 12 predictions.

TCU at Texas Tech (+6), 12:00 p.m. ET

With Kenny Hill and Darius Anderson out for TCU, it’s enticing to take the six points with Texas Tech. But can the Red Raiders score against the top defense in the Big 12? The Red Raiders struggled with Iowa State, which is one of the few teams that plays defense in the conference. TCU ranks fifth in the nation defensively. Despite having several key players out on offense, I like the Horned Frogs to win today on defense.

College Football Week 12 Prediction: TCU Horned Frogs -6

Central Florida at Temple, 12:00 p.m. ET

We have a live dog situation here. Temple has been trending in the right direction for three straight weeks. The Owls will view this matchup as their Super Bowl. On the other side, Central Florida might be feeling the pressure of keeping its undefeated season alive and has South Florida on deck. Plus, you have a warm weather team traveling to cold, dark Philly for an early kickoff game against a Temple team that is playing its best football at the moment. I think this only a touchdown win for the Knights.

College Football Week 12 Prediction: Temple Owls +13

Texas at West Virginia, 12:00 p.m. ET

I have to ride with the Longhorns and Tom Herman, who is 14-1 against the spread as an underdog dating back to his days as an offensive coordinator at Ohio State. That’s remarkable. The Longhorns have also played a much tougher schedule than the Mountaineers, losing to USC in overtime, losing to Oklahoma State by a field goal, and losing to Oklahoma by five points.

Granted, those were all losses so you could make the argument that Herman’s guys are just finding ways to lose close. But West Virginia has also played opponents close to the vest, with wins by 5, 4 and 2 in Big 12 play. Texas also has the edge on defense, so I’m riding with the Longhorns. Texas is 6-2-1 against the spread in its last nine games overall while West Virginia is just 9-25-1 against the number in its last 35 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in its previous game.

College Football Week 12 Prediction: Texas Longhorns +3
