College Football Odds: Ohio State favored to win the Big Ten 8/22/17
After a surprising winner last season, which team will come away with the Big Ten Championship in the 2017 season? Here’s a look at the College Football Odds for the conference.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL ODDS
According to the latest oddsmakers, Ohio State is the favorite to win the Big Ten this year, as the Buckeyes are getting odds of -130 to win. Other short odds to win are Wisconsin (+275), Penn State (+500) and Michigan (+600).
OHIO STATE
Ohio State went 11-2 last season and 8-1 in the Big Ten, but ended up on the outside of the Big Ten Championship Game. The Buckeyes have won the Big Ten title 35 times, last doing so in 2014. Ohio State has managed to lose a game they shouldn’t in recent seasons, but this year the team has J.T. Barrett back to lead the talented offense.
WISCONSIN
Wisconsin is coming off an 11-3 mark in 2016 where it went 7-2 in the Big Ten. The Badgers won the West Division, but lost the conference title game. Wisconsin has won the Big Ten 14 times, last doing so in 2012. The Badgers have a much easier road than the other teams by playing in the West Division.
PENN STATE
Penn State won the Big Ten last season after going 11-3 overall and 8-1 in conference play. The Nittany Lions have won the Big Ten title four times in program history. Penn State returns a lot of talent, especially at the skill positions. They could be even tougher this season.
MICHIGAN
Michigan was 10-3 last season and 7-2 in the Big Ten in 2016. The Wolverines have won a total of 42 conference titles. Their last championship came in 2004. Michigan has Jim Harbaugh as coach, but they lost a lot of starters from a year ago, including 10 on defense.
