2017 U.S. Open Odds
According to oddsmakers, Johnson is listed as the favorite to win the 2017 U.S. Open, with 15/2 odds to win. Rory McIlroy has the next shortest odds at 9/1, while Jordan Spieth is listed at 10/1. The 2017 U.S. Open will take place June 15-18 from Erin Hills in Erin, Wisconsin.
Dustin Johnson had the golf world in his hands after winning three straight tournament heading into the Masters a few weeks ago, but a spill down a staircase the night before the tournament started caused a back injury and he had to withdraw on the first tee. The injury doesn’t appear to be too serious, but Johnson won’t return to action until next month.
Johnson has climbed to No. 1 in the world rankings for the first time in his career following his three wins in 2017. He has finished sixth or better in six of the seven events he has played in and was coming off three victories in the 2016 season as well. One of those wins was the 2016 U.S. Open, where he won by three shots at Oakmont Country Club. It was his first and only major championship.
When it comes to majors, Johnson has been one of the best over the last few years. He has finished in the top 10 in six of the last eight he has competed in and he has finished in the top 5 in three straight U.S. Open Championships.
