The NCAA Tournament for 2017 is in the past, so now it’s time to take a closer look at what the 2018 Tournament may produce.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, there are three teams all favored with 10/1 odds to win next season. Duke, Louisville and Kentucky all come in with 10/1 odds to open for next year’s tournament. Gonzaga, Kansas, North Carolina and Villanova are all opening with 12/1 odds.
Duke was surprisingly outed quickly in this year’s tournament, losing in the second round to South Carolina. The Blue Devils had just two seniors, but will lose some key players to the NBA Draft. Luke Kennard has declared for the NBA Draft recently, joining the likes of Jayson Tatum and Harry Giles.
Louisville reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament as well before losing to Michigan. The Cardinals had three seniors on their roster this but both Donovan Mitchell and Deng Adel are testing the NBA waters for now and could be gone as well.
Kentucky reached the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament before falling to eventual champion, UNC, in a buzzer-beater. As usual, the Wildcats were dealing with a lot of freshmen last season and likely will next season too. De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk, Isaac Humphries and Isaiah Briscoe have all declared and signed agents while Bam Adebayo has declared but yet to sign an agent.
Gonzaga and North Carolina are coming off a great NCAA Tournament final last week.
Gonzaga was playing for its first championship and came up just short while UNC picked up its sixth NCAA Tournament title.
