Washington vs. Stanford Week 10 Predictions Against the Spread 11/10/17
Will Stanford hang with Washington tonight as a home underdog?
The Odds: Washington at Stanford, 10:30 p.m. ET, Friday
According to oddsmakers, the Cardinal is now a 6-point home underdog versus the Huskies. Stanford opened as an 8-point underdog but the line dropped two full points. The total, meanwhile, sits at 49 points after hitting the board at 47.
Washington enters play with an 8-1 record and is 3-1 on the road. Stanford, meanwhile, is 6-3 on the year and a perfect 3-0 at home. From a betting perspective, the Huskies are 6-3 against the spread and 2-2 ATS on the road, while the Cardinal is 3-5 at the betting window and 2-1 ATS at home.
Washington Huskies
From Rotoworld: Washington junior QB Jake Browning completed 11-of-19 passes for 204 yards with two touchdowns and a pick in a 38-3 rout of Oregon on Saturday.
Browning (6’3/200) was much more active in this game than he was against UCLA, when the Huskies realized there was no reason to pass the football. It was a rainy day in Seattle, but Browning did miss on a couple of throws, including a potential touchdown in the first quarter to wideout Dante Pettis. He made up for it in the third quarter, throwing a dime to Pettis from 47 yards out, and connecting on a screen pass to Levon Coleman on a 31-yard touchdown.
With Pettis the only real weapon in the passing game right now, you’re not going to see Browning put up the type of numbers he did in 2016, but he’s still certainly one of the better quarterbacks in the Pac-12, if not the nation. Browning and Washington get Stanford tonight.
Stanford Cardinal
Stanford redshirt junior RB Bryce Love (ankle) rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in Saturday’s 24-21 loss to Washington State.
Love sat out against Oregon State a week ago Thursday while nursing an ankle injury, but managed to suit up and play on Saturday. He busted out for a 52-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter which accounted for almost the entirety of his rushing output against the Cougars. He’ll try to get his Heisman campaign back on track in earnest when Stanford does battle with Washington tonight.
Our Prediction
The home team has had plenty of success in this series, covering in five of the last six meetings. The Cardinal is also 12-3 against the spread in their last 15 games following a loss and is 8-2 against the number its last 10 games after accumulating less than 275 total yards in its previous game.
Stanford got waxed a year ago in Washington. Don’t think that isn’t on David Shaw and his team’s mind as the Cardinal heads into action tonight. Love gives them a shot in every game and this is a huge game the eve before a massive Saturday in college football. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw an outright upset tonight.
