Line Movement: Warriors at Spurs
According to oddsmakers, Golden State opened as a 5.5-point road underdog but the line jumped to 7.5. As for the total, the number hit the board at 216.5 but dropped to 216. Public bettors are also backing the Warriors at over a 60% clip.
Golden State Warriors
Stephen Curry hit 9-of-14 shots, 7-of-11 3-pointers and 6-of-8 free throws for 31 points, five rebounds, six dimes, two steals and a block in Monday’s easy 141-113 win over the Clippers. As if that weren’t enough, Curry also produced just one turnover on the night. The 31 points marked his second-highest scoring game of the season and the seven 3-pointers were a season high. The Warriors have overcome a slow start to win four of their last five games.
Meanwhile, Draymond Green hit 5-of-8 shots for 16 points, nine rebounds, six assists, two steals, one block and a 3-pointer in 31 minutes of Monday’s 141-113 win over the Clippers. Green had six turnovers and scored just two points on Sunday, but bounced back in a big way against Blake Griffin and company tonight. He’s not going to knock your socks off in the scoring category, as usual, but he’s a multi-cat beast and possibly the best defensive player in the NBA.
San Antonio Spurs
Kawhi Leonard (right quad) has been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Warriors. For what it’s worth, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News speculated that Leonard could be back sometime in November, but the beat reporter acknowledged that estimate was mostly guesswork.
The Spurs also recalled Tony Parker from the G League. He is still rehabbing his quad tendon surgery. The Austin Spurs don’t start their G League season until Friday, so this move is likely just a formality. Parker is believed to be ahead of schedule and he could make it back on an NBA court before Thanksgiving, but December appears to be the target.
