UCLA vs. Utah College Football Over/Under Predictions 11/3/17

Kansas State vs. UCLA

Will tonight’s Pac-12 game between UCLA and Utah result in a low-scoring matchup for bettors?

The Matchup: UCLA (4-4) at Utah (4-4)

According to oddsmakers, the Utes are now 7-point home favorites to beat the Bruins, who opened as 5-point underdogs. As for the total, the number hit the board at 61 points but was bet down to 5.5.

UCLA enters play with a 4-4 record overall and a 0-4 mark on the road this year. The Bruins have failed to cover in six of their eight games and are winless at the betting window in their four road games.

As for Utah, the Utes are also 4-4 on the season and 2-2 at home. They have fared much better at the betting window than their counterparts tonight. The Utes are 5-2 against the spread and 2-1 ATS at home.

UCLA Bruins

There’s a good chance that quarterback Josh Rosen will not suit up tonight for the Bruins. He’s officially questionable with a hand injury but he’s reportedly dealing with multiple injuries.

“I wish I could tell you. I wish I knew whether he’s going to be available or not Friday night. I just don’t know,” was head coach Jim Mora’s response to whether or not Rosen would play.

Rosen did not practice this week and if he can’t play, freshman Devon Modster will draw the start against the Utes.

Utah Utes

Sophomore quarterback Tyler Huntley has struggled since his return from a shoulder injury. He threw four interceptions and completed 19-of-35 passes for 155 yards in the Utes’ 30-10 loss against Arizona State on October 21. His stat line was bad, but he played even worse than those ugly numbers would indicate.

That said, he rebounded against Oregon last Saturday but the Utes still fell, 41-20. He was 25-of-43 for 293 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, but Utah had zero answers for the Ducks’ running game.

Our Prediction

Will Utah allowed 41 points last week to Oregon, Modster won’t create that kind of damage tonight. And the Bruins don’t have a running game to take advantage of the Utes’ defensive front, so this should be a low-scoring game.
