Stanley Cup Predictions: Will Penguins finish off the Predators? 6/11/17

NHL Predictions

Can the Pittsburgh Penguins claim the Stanley Cup tonight when they go on the road to face the Nashville Predators in Game 6 at 8PM ET? Here’s our Stanley Cup Predictions for this game.

GAME 6 ODDS

According to oddsmakers, the Predators are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -145 to win, while the Penguins are listed with odds of +125 to win. The over/under total for the game has been set at 5.5 goals.

RECORDS

The Penguins dominated Game 5 of the series on Thursday night, picking up a 6-0 win to take a 3-2 lead in the series. The home team has won all five games in this Stanley Cup Final.

Pittsburgh is now 65-28-13 overall and 24-21-7 on the road while Nashville is 55-35-13 overall and 33-8-9 at home.

GAME 5 RECAP

Pittsburgh didn’t give the Predators a chance to get started in Game 5, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first period. Justin Schultz, Bryan Rust and Evgeni Malkin each scored in the opening period. Pittsburgh added another three goals in the second period from Conor Sheary, Phil Kessel and Ron Hainsey.

Pekka Rinne was pulled once again in Pittsburgh after allowing three goals on nine shots. Juuse Saros didn’t do much better, allowing three goals on 15 shots. Matt Murray stopped all 24 shots he faced to earn the shutout for Pittsburgh.

STANLEY CUP PREDICTIONS

Pittsburgh dominated Game 5, but the shots were still equal. I think the home team will continue to run this series as Nashville looked like the dominant team in Games 3 and 4.

After Sidney Crosby got some cheap shots in on P.K. Subban in Game 5, the Predators shouldn’t be short on motivation at home. Nashville hasn’t been outshot in any game of this series and the Predators will be more physical at home today. That will be a recipe for success.
