Stanley Cup Predictions: Can the Predators beat the Penguins? 6/3/17

NHL Predictions

With the series on the move, can the Nashville Predators get on the board in the Stanley Cup Final when they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins in tonight at 8PM ET? Here’s our Stanley Cup Predictions for Game 3.

GAME 3 ODDS

According to oddsmakers, the Predators are favored at home tonight, as they are getting odds of -135 to win. The Penguins are listed with a money line of +115 to prevail, while the over/under total for the game is set at 5.5 goals.

RECORDS

Pittsburgh picked up a 4-1 win in Game 2 to take a 2-0 lead in this series. The Penguins have now won three straight against the Predators and eight of the last 10 between the two.

Pittsburgh is 64-26-13 overall and 24-19-7 on the road. Nashville is 53-34-13 overall and 31-9-9 at home.

GAME 2 RECAP

The Predators once again had more shots and hits than the Penguins in Game 2, but it didn’t matter yet again. After a 1-0 lead on a Pontus Aberg goal, the Penguins took over from there. Jake Guentzel had his 11th playoff goal tie things up. They then added three goals in the third period as Guentzel scored again and Scott Wilson and Evgeni Malkin also found the net.

Pekka Rinne was pulled late in the game, but will still be in net for tonight. Matt Murray played very well, making 37 saves.

STANLEY CUP PREDICTIONS

Well, there hasn’t been many positives for the Predators in this series so far, but I think things will turn tonight. Rinne should improve his play at home. He has a 2.23 GAA at home this season.

If Nashville continues to rack up the shots, they will start to find the net against Murray. Look for the crowd to boost this team to a win in its first home Stanley Cup Final game.
