According to oddsmakers, the Penguins are the slight favorite in the series, as they are getting odds of -150 to take home the Cup. Nashville is listed with a money line of +130 to win its first championship. The Stanley Cup Final begins on Monday, May 29 and Pittsburgh holds the home-ice-advantage in this best-of-7 series.

HISTORY

These two teams crossed paths just twice this season. The home team won both meetings as the Preds picked up a 5-1 win on Oct. 22 in Nashville and the Pens picked up a 4-2 win in Pittsburgh on Jan. 31.

THE PENGUINS

The Penguins won the Eastern Conference title by beating the Ottawa Senators in seven games. The Pens have went 12-7 in the postseason after beating the Blue Jackets in four games and then topping the Washington Capitals in seven games. Pittsburgh now stands 62-26-13 overall, 38-7-6 at home and 24-19-7 on the road. For the season, Pittsburgh is averaging 3.33 goals per game and allowing 2.70.

In the postseason, Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby are leading the way. They both have seven goals. Malkin has 17 assists while Crosby has 13. After going with Marc-Andre Fleury most of the postseason, Matt Murray has taken over in net. He has a 1.35 GAA this postseason with a .946 save percentage.

THE PREDATORS

The Predators won the Western Conference Finals after beating the Anaheim Ducks in six games. They comes into the finals with a 12-4 postseason record. They defeated the Chicago Blackhawks in four games and then topped the St. Louis Blues in six games. Three of their four losses in the playoffs came on the road. Nashville is now 53-32-13 overall, 31-9-9 at home and 22-23-4 on the road. The Predators are now putting up 2.91 goals per game while allowing 2.54.

Filip Forsberg has been leading the team in the postseason with eight goals and seven assists. Ryan Johansen has added three goals and 10 assists. Pekka Rinne has a GAA of 1.70 in the playoffs and a save percentage of .941.
