Rockets vs. Hawks NBA Over/Under Predictions 11/3/17
Is the betting total set too high for tonight’s Rockets and Hawks game at 7:30 p.m. ET?
The Odds: Rockets (6-3) at Hawks (1-7)
According to oddsmakers, the Hawks are 9-point home underdogs versus Houston tonight. Chris Paul and Co. opened as an 8-point road favorite but the line climbed a full point. The total, meanwhile, sits at 214 points after hitting the board at the same number.
Houston enters play with a 6-3 record and is 5-1 on the road this season. In those nine games, however, the Rockets are just 4-5 against the spread. On the other side, the Hawks have won just one of their eight games on the season and are 0-2 at home. They’re 2-5 against the spread to start the year.
Houston Rockets
Houston coach Mike D’Antoni said he’s hoping to have Chris Paul (bruised left knee) back in two weeks.
D’Antoni didn’t have any new information regarding Paul, but this confirms that he’s still targeting a mid-November return. The Rockets will return home to Houston after Friday’s game in Atlanta, so expect the PG to be re-evaluated this weekend.
Atlanta Hawks
Dennis Schroder (ankle), Marco Belinelli (Achilles) and Mike Muscala (ankle) are all probable against the Rockets on Friday.
The Hawks continue to use the probable tag on these three guys, but they’ve all been in active in the last two games. Expect that to be the case again.
Our Prediction
The under is 4-1 in the Rockets’ last five road games, is 6-2 in their last eight games overall, and is 5-0 in their last five games coming off a win.
On the other side, the under has cashed in 13 of the Hawks’ last 10 games against Southwest competition. It is also 36-17-1 in their last 54 games versus Western Conference opponents. In Atlanta’s last 29 games coming off a loss, the under is 19-8-2.
