NHL Predictions: Will the Wild best the Jets at home? 10/31/17

NHL Predictions

Can the Minnesota Wild get a win at home when they play host to the Winnipeg Jets tonight at 8PM ET? Here’s our NHL Predictions for this contest.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Wild are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -140 to win, while the Jets are listed with a money line of +120 to prevail. The over/under total for this game has been set at 5.5 goals. Tonight’s game takes place from Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The Jets are coming off a 7-1 win over Pittsburgh at home on Sunday to improve to 5-3-2 on the season. Winnipeg is 2-1-2 on the road this season. The Jets are putting up and allowing 3.10 goals per game this year. Blake Wheeler is leading the Jets with 12 points while Nikolaj Ehlers has a team-high six goals. Steve Mason is expected in net tonight. He is 0-3-1 on the season with a 4.84 GAA and .872 save percentage.

The Wild are coming off a 2-1 win over the Penguins at home on Saturday for their second straight win. Minnesota is 4-3-2 on the season and 2-1-1 at home. The Wild are scoring 3.33 goals per game this season while giving up 3.00 per contest. Minnesota is being led by Chris Stewart, who has six goals and two assists. Jared Spurgeon also has eight points on seven assists and one goal. Devan Dubnyk is in goal tonight for the Wild. He is 3-3-1 on the year with a 3.03 GAA and a .905 save percentage.

Winnipeg has won the last two meetings between these two teams, including a 4-3 win at home back on Oct. 20. The Wild have struggled at home though, winning just two of their last seven. They also are 1-5 in their last six after a win. The Jets may not have a great tender tonight, but they are 10-1 in their last 11 games when on 1 day of rest and 8-2 in their last 10 after a win. The public is behind the Wild, slightly, but I think the Jets can pull off the upset tonight.
