NHL Predictions: Can the Blues get past the Flames? 11/13/17
Can the St. Louis Blues pick up another road win when they face the Calgary Flames tonight at 9PM ET? Here’s our NHL Predictions for this game.
ODDS
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, this game is considered even, as both the Flames and the Blues are getting odds of -110 to win tonight. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 5.5 goals. Tonight’s game takes place from Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta.
BLUES
St. Louis is coming off a 5-2 loss to the Islanders on Saturday, which snapped a three-game win streak. The Blues are 13-4-1 on the season and 6-2-1 on the road. St. Louis is averaging 3.11 goals per game while allowing 2.44 per contest. Jaden Schwartz has nine goals and 13 assists to lead the team while Vladimir Tarasenko has eight goals and 12 assists. Jake Allen is 9-4-1 in net for the Blues with a 2.59 GAA and a .914 save percentage.
FLAMES
Calgary is coming off a 6-3 win over Detroit at home on Thursday night for its fourth win in five games. The Flames are 9-7 overall and 5-5 at home this season. Calgary is putting up 2.63 goals per game while allowing 2.88 per contest. Johnny Gaudreau is leading Calgary with six goals and 16 assists while Sean Monahan has eight goals and eight assists. Mike Smith is 9-6 in net this season with a 2.55 GAA and a .924 save percentage.
NHL PREDICTIONS
Calgary has had the edge in this series, winning three of the last five meetings with the Blues. The road team has also won three of the last four in this series. While the Flames are playing well as of late, I don’t think Calgary has the ability to beat St. Louis regularly. The Blues average nearly ½ a goal more per game and allow nearly ½ a goal less. St. Louis is the better team on both sides of the ice. The public betting is siding heavily with the Blues and I agree with them.
