NHL Prediction: Will the Senators take Game 5 from the Rangers? 5/6/17
Will the home team remain unbeaten in this NHL Playoffs series when the Ottawa Senators host the New York Rangers at 3PM ET in Game 5? Here’s our NHL Prediction for Saturday.
GAME 5 ODDS
According to oddsmakers, this game is considered even, as both the Senators and the Rangers are listed with odds of -110 to win today. The over/under total for the game is set at 5 goals.
RECORDS
The Rangers picked up another 4-1 win in Game 4 on Thursday night to even the series at 2-2. The home team is 4-0 in this series and has won the last six meetings between these two teams. New York is now 54-30-8 overall and 29-13-4 on the road. Ottawa is 50-31-11 overall and 25-12-9 at home.
GAME 4 RECAP
New York dominated Game 4, establishing a 4-0 lead before the Senators got a goal in the later stages of the contest. Oscar Lindberg scored twice for the Rangers while Nick Holden and Chris Kreider also found the net.
New York had a 30-23 edge in shots in the win as well. The tail end of the game saw a lot of fighting and the two teams actually combined for 92 penalty minutes.
NHL PREDICTION
The home team has been the play all series, but I still feel like the Rangers are the better team. New York won handily in the two games at home. They lost by just one goal each in games 1 and 2. The Senators were forced to pull Craig Anderson in Game 4, so his confidence should be shaken.
Henrik Lundqvist remains a steady presence in net for the Rangers and he should give New York a chance to win today. The key will be for the Rangers maintain their high output of shots now that they are on the road.
NHL Prediction – New York Rangers -110
