NHL Prediction: Will the Predators take Game 4 vs. Ducks? 5/18/17

NHL Predictions

Can the Nashville Predators take a commanding lead in the Western Conference Finals when they host the Anaheim Ducks in Game 4 tonight at 8PM ET? Here’s our NHL Prediction for the contest.

GAME 4 ODDS

According to oddsmakers, the Predators are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -145 to win, while the Ducks are listed with a money line of +130 to prevail. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 5 goals.

RECORDS

Nashville fought back in Game 3 to pick up a 2-1 win and take a 2-1 lead in the series. These two have now split their six meetings throughout the season.

Anaheim is now 55-27-14 overall and 21-17-9 on the road. Nashville is 51-32-12 overall and 30-9-8 at home.

GAME 3 RECAP

The Predators got the win on Tuesday night despite falling behind 1-0. Corey Perry scored on a power play in the second period with just five minutes to play. In the third period, Filip Forsberg tied the game 3:54 in with his sixth postseason goal. Roman Josi then gave the Preds the lead for good with under three minutes to play on a power play goal.

Pekka Rinne had a quiet night, facing just 20 shots. John Gibson continued to play quite well for the Ducks, but faced 40 shots in the game. Nashville also had an advantage in hits and faceoffs won in Game 3.

NHL PREDICTION

The Ducks can’t continue to play the way they have been this series and expect to win games. Anaheim is getting outshot in great numbers. While Gibson has played pretty well this season, he can’t continue to stop 38 shots a game.

The Ducks have to find a way to change the tempo of this series and limit what Nashville is doing on offense. I am not sure they can, as the Predators have looked amazing throughout the postseason. Rinne isn’t even playing all that great in this series and the Preds are winning. Imagine if he starts getting hot again.
