NHL Prediction: Can the Ducks top the Oilers at home? 5/5/17

NHL Predictions

Who will grab the crucial Game-5 victory when the Anaheim Ducks host the Edmonton Oilers tonight at 10:30PM ET? Here’s our NHL Prediction.

GAME 5 ODDS

According to oddsmakers, the Ducks are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -140 to win, while the Oilers are listed with odds of +120 to prevail. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 5.5 goals.

RECORDS

The road team has won all four games in this series. Edmonton won the first two in Anaheim, and the Ducks answered with two wins at the home of the Oilers.

Anaheim is now 52-25-13 overall and 31-10-4 at home while the Oilers come into this game 53-28-11 overall and 26-15-5 on the road.

GAME 4 RECAP

The Oilers had a prime chance to take complete control of this series in Game 4. They held a 2-0 lead after one period when Connor McDavid and Milan Lucic both score. However, the Ducks countered with three goals in the second period. Ryan Getzlaf scored twice and Rickard Rakell also found the net.

The Oilers would force OT with a Drake Caggiula goal in the closing minutes, but Jakob Silfverberg got his seventh playoff goal in the OT to even the series.

NHL PREDICTION

Can you continue to expect the road team to win each game in this series? I don’t personally think so. Wednesday’s win should spark something for the Ducks, as they were able to erase a two-goal deficit, which erased a two-game deficit.

John Gibson isn’t a goalie I like to rely on, but he stepped up in the later stages of Game 4. Cam Talbot has been facing a lot of shots and there’s only so much he can do. Look for the Ducks to continue their offensive assault and pick up a home win.
