NHL Playoff Odds: Capitals, not Blackhawks, favored to win 2017 Stanley Cup
Entering the NHL postseason, the Washington Capitals and not the Chicago Blackhawks are favored to win the 2017 Stanley Cup.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Capitals have 7/2 odds to win the 2017 Stanley Cup. Washington is followed by the Blackhawks at 15/4, while the Minnesota Wild (7/1), Pittsburgh Penguins (15/2), and Columbus Blue Jackets (9/1).
Some of the other contenders include the Anaheim Ducks, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers and San Jose Sharks, who are all 15/1, respectively, to win the Stanley Cup this year. The Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues are both 20/1, respectively, while the Ottawa Senators are 25/1.
The long shots including the Calgary Flames and Nashville Predators, who are both 28/1, respectively, to win the Cup, while the Toronto Maple Leafs own the longest odds to win at 30/1.
The Capitals are also 7/4 to win the Eastern Conference this year, followed by the Penguins at 7/2, the Blue Jackets at 4/1, the Candiens at 15/2 and the Rangers at 15/2. The Bruins (9/1), Senators (12/1), and the Maple Leafs (18/1) round out the rest of the odds to win the Eastern Conference.
In the West, the Blackhawks are favored to win the conference at 13/10 odds, followed by the Wild at 7/2 and the Ducks at 13/2. The Oilers are also 13/2, while the Sharks are 15/2 and the Flames, Predators and Blues are all 12/1, respectively.
