NFL Week 1 Predictions: Raiders vs. Titans 9/10/17

NFL Predictions

Will the Titans knock off the Raiders on Sunday when Week 1 of the NFL season continues?

The Matchup: Raiders at Titans, 1:00PM ET, Tennessee

Tennessee opened as a 1.5-point home underdog for this matchup but the line has moved. According to oddsmakers, the Titans are now 3-point home favorites against the Raiders. As for the total, the number opened at 52 but has been bet down to 50.5.

Oakland Raiders

The Raiders are 2-0 in Nashville the past two seasons. They won those games by a field goal and a touchdown, respectively.

On the injury front, fullback Jamize Olawale has been ruled out for today’s game with a quad injury. Safety Keith McGil III is also out with a foot injury. Finally, rookie corner Gareon Conley is questionable due to a shin injury.

Tennessee Titans

Coach Mike Mularkey said rookie first-round pick Corey Davis had a good week of practice. “I feel good about Corey…I don’t think you’ll see him 75 plays.” Davis has missed some practice time due to an injury, but should be used in a limited capcity today.

Meanwhile, starting cornerback LeShaun Sims didn’t practice for a third straight day and has been ruled out. That means rookie Adoree’ Jackson will see the field a lot. Brice McCain will see plenty of action as well.

Our Prediction

The Raiders have issues defensively. Fifth-round pick Marquel Lee and Tyrell Adams have yet to take a defensive snap in a regular-season game. Conley, the team’s first-round pick, never even got into a preseason game. If he plays, he could be a target of Marcus Mariota.

The favorite is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams. The Titans are also 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games in Week 1. In what should be a shootout, I like the home team covering the field goal.

NFL Week 1 Prediction: Tennessee Titans -3
