The Matchup: Chiefs vs. Seahawks, 8:00PM ET, CenturyLink Field

According to oddsmakers, the Seahawks are now 3-point favorites to beat the Chiefs. They opened as 3.5-point favorites but the line dropped a half-point. As for the total, the number hit the board at 41.5 before climbing to 43.

Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City lost 27-17 to the San Francisco 49ers in its first preseason game but improved to 1-1 after beating the Bengals 30-12 in Cincinnati last week. Rookie quarterback Patrick Mahomes continued his impressive preseason, completing 10-of-14 passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Chancandrick West also had a big game, rushing seven times for 113 yards. De’Anthony Thomas also caught three passes for 31 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively for Kansas City, Josh Mauga recorded a team-high seven tackles in the win. Ukeme Eligwe also finished with four tackles, a sack and two tackles for loss in an impressive performance.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks improved to 2-0 in preseason play with a 20-13 victory over the Vikings last week. Russell Wilson completed 13-of-18 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns in the win. He looked like he was already ready for the regular season. Alex Collins also had a nice performance, rushing 10 times for 58 yards. Doug Baldwin added four receptions for 69 yards.

Defensively, Tedric Thompson racked up seven tackles while Earl Thomas had six tackles, including four solo tackles. Thompson also added an interception in the win.

Our Prediction

Mahomes has had a nice preseason thus far but with this being a dress rehearsal for the regular-season, I like the Seahawks to prevail at home. Trevone Boykin has put together a couple of good exhibition games as well and can match Mahomes in the second half. I like Seattle to cover.

NFL Preseason Prediction: Seattle Seahawks -3
