According to oddsmakers, the Yankees are -245 favorites for tonight’s game versus the Orioles. As of this writing, 71% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Yankees to beat the Orioles on the moneyline.
Yankees’ Severino strikes out eight in win over Blue Jays
Luis Severino improved to 16-6 on the season after allowing two runs in five innings against the Blue Jays on Saturday. He walked two and gave up six hits while striking out eight. This was a nice bounce-back start for Severino who has been struggling and had a 7.50 ERA over his last seven starts prior to Saturday.
Orioles’ Bundy knocked around again in loss to Blue Jays
Dylan Bundy struggled again Tuesday, getting charged with seven runs over four-plus innings in a loss to the Blue Jays. The home run ball once again hurt Bundy, as he served up a trio of solo shots and has now surrendered a league-high 33 dingers on the season. It wasn’t just the longball, though, as the Jays piled up 10 hits over his four-plus frames. Bundy has now given up at least five runs in six of eight starts since the beginning of July, pushing his ERA from 3.75 all the way up to 5.31. He’ll face Toronto again in his next start, with that one coming at home.
MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Yankees have won four straight games in Baltimore, are 5-1 in their last six games overall, and are 4-1 in Severino’s last five starts versus the O’s.
Baltimore
The Orioles are 2-5 in Bundy’s last seven home starts.
Prediction:
The over is a perfect 5-0 in Severino’s last five starts against the Orioles. It is also 4-1-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams in Baltimore and 34-16-1 in the last 51 meetings overall. Given how much Bundy has struggled this season and given that Severino might now be totally back to his dominant ways yet, I like the over.
The Pick: Yankees/Orioles over 8.5
