NCAAF Predictions: Texas State Got Any Chance? 10/12/17

NCAAF Predictions Texas State UL Lafayette

Not a whole lot of bettors giving Texas State a chance as they travel to face UL-Lafayette on Thursday night. It’s a game very similar to last night’s matchup where South Alabama was getting 16 points, only to beat Troy outright 19-8. OK, it’s easy to see how it’s not the easiest to give the Texas State Bobcats any love considering they’ve lost five straight but the Ragin Cajuns have dropped three of four themself ahead of the NCAAF Predictions Texas State UL Lafayette.

Odds

Despite nearly 80% of the public backing UL-Lafayette, the line of -14 has held firm – actually dropping just a tad from -14.5. A money line bet on the Ragin Cajuns isn’t your wisest investment ever at -600 (Troy was -1300 last night) but if you think a huge underdog can win two nights in a row Texas State at +447 offers a great ROI. Oddsmakers are also expecting a high scoring affair in the NCAAF Predictions Texas State UL Lafayette with a total of 55 (down from 58).

Texas State Bobcats

The Bobcats notched a win in the season opener, granted it was against somebody called the Houston Baptist Huskies. Since then they’ve dropped four in a row – rarely being close games. The Texas State defense is especially vulnerable having given up 44+ points in three straight games. Last week in a 45-27 loss to Louisiana Monroe the Bobcat defense gave up 433 yards passing of their nearly 600 allowed total. It’s not great splits for a team that is also 124th in the nation in their own offense’s total yards.

UL – Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns

ULL had to continue with their  QB switch to Andre Nunez last week as former starter Jordan Davis faced an injury. The newcomer seemed to manage the offense well snapping a three game losing streak for the Cajuns by completing 18/24 for 213. Davis is healthy for tonight’s matchup, but coach Mark Hudspeth may choose to stick with Nunez mostly because the ball control offense actually seemed to aid the ULL defense which allowed under 3oo yards total to Idaho as the Cajuns were +6 underdogs.

NCAAF Predictions Texas State UL Lafayette

Bettors for the NCAAF Predictions Texas State UL Lafayette on Thursday night may be tempted to put money on the underdog considering last night’s South Alabama win but it’s just not conceivable regardless how many points ULL is giving up. The Texas State defense is not only horrible, the Ragin Cajuns actually have a pretty formidable offense gaining just under 240 in the air and nearly 180 on the ground.

Pick: UL-Lafayette – 14
