NBA Prediction: Will the Wizards even the series with the Celtics? 5/7/17
Will the Washington Wizards find a way to even up their series with the Boston Celtics when the two meet in Game 4 today at 6:30PM ET? Here’s our NBA Prediction for Sunday.
GAME 4 ODDS
According to oddsmakers, Washington is favored in today’s game, as the Wizards are getting odds of -4.5 points against the Celtics. The over/under total is listed at 216 points.
RECORDS
Washington got on the board in the series with a 116-89 win at home in Game 3 on Thursday night. The Celtics still hold s 2-1 lead in the series and are 2-1 against the spread in the series.
Boston is now 59-32 overall, 26-19 on the road and 46-43-2 against the spread. Washington is 54-37 overall, 34-11 at home and 46-44-1 against the spread.
GAME 3 RECAP
The Wizards came out motivated for Game 3 and lit into the Celtics right away. Washington had a 39-17 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. The game featured plenty of emotion and physicality and Kelly Oubre Jr. managed to get himself ejected after bumping Kelly Olynyk of the Celtics. Oubre is suspended for today’s game.
The physicality seemed to bother Boston, as it was just 27-of-77 from the field and had 16 turnovers. Washington have just nine turnovers and 26 assists. John Wall had 24 points with eight assists to lead the team. Martin Gortat had 13 points and 16 rebounds while Otto Porter Jr. had 19 points with eight boards. Isaiah Thomas was held to just 13 points in the loss.
NBA PREDICTION
Not having Oubre shouldn’t matter too much, as he didn’t log big minutes in Game 3 and has had a poor series. Washington has looked like the better team in the series, in my opinion. They let Game 2 get away from them, but had the Celtics beat there.
Game 3 was all about Washington and I think Game 4 will be the same. The Wizards have the intensity that Boston seems to be lacking, especially at home. Look for John Wall to lead his team to another win and cover.
NBA Prediction: Washington Wizards -4.5
