NBA Prediction: Will the Warriors cover on the road vs. the Jazz? 5/6/17
With the series shifting locations, will the Golden State Warriors continue to dominate the Utah Jazz when they meet in Game 3 at 8:30PM ET? Here’s our NBA Prediction for Saturday.
GAME 3 ODDS
According to oddsmakers, Golden State is favored on the road, as the Warriors are getting odds of -6 points against the Jazz. The over/under total for Game 3 is listed at 207.5 points.
RECORDS
Golden State established a 2-0 lead in the series with a 115-104 victory over the Jazz on Thursday night. The Warriors have won nine of their last 10 meetings with the Jazz, but Utah has covered the spread in both games in this series.
Golden State is now 73-15 overall, 33-10 on the road and 43-42-3 against the spread. Utah is 55-36 overall, 30-14 at home and 43-44-4 against the spread.
GAME 2 RECAP
The Warriors once again started fast in Game 2 and held off the Jazz from there. Golden State took a 33-15 advantage after the first quarter, but couldn’t build the lead much more from there. The Jazz found a way to stay somewhat close and cover. Golden State was 14-of-31 from 3-point land in the win.
Stephen Curry put up 23 points, including 5 3-pointers, while also adding seven assists. Kevin Durant had 25 points with 11 rebounds and seven assists. Gordon Hayward had 33 points to lead the Jazz while Rudy Gobert had 16 points with 16 rebounds.
NBA PREDICTION
The Warriors haven’t covered in this series yet, but I think they will tonight. Golden State hasn’t had to work terribly hard to win by double digits in Games 1 and 2, they just couldn’t win by 14 or more.
Another fast start for the Warriors, or even just a hot streak at some point in the game, will be enough. Utah doesn’t have the offensive ability to keep pace with this GS team. If the spread were a little higher, I might take Utah, but I like the Warriors giving up just six.
