NBA Prediction: Will the Cavs close out the Celtics in Game 5? 5/25/17

Cavs vs. Warriors

Will the Cleveland Cavaliers close out the Eastern Conference Finals with a big win when they face the Boston Celtics tonight in Game 5 at 8:30PM ET? Here’s our NBA Prediction for tonight’s contest.

GAME 5 ODDS

According to oddsmakers, Cleveland is the heavy favorite on the road, as the Cavs are getting odds of -10 points against the Celtics. The over/under total for the game is listed at 215.5 points.

RECORDS

Cleveland put Boston on the brink of elimination following a 112-99 win over the Celtics in Game 4. The Cavs have a 3-1 lead in the series. Still, Boston covered the spread for the second straight game.

Boston is now 62-37 overall, 35-15 at home and 51-46-2 against the spread. Cleveland is 62-32 overall, 26-21 on the road and 43-47-4 against the spread.

GAME 4 RECAP

The Cavs got another scare in Game 4, as they trailed the Celtics by double digits early on. However, Kyrie Irving took over in the second half to lead Cleveland to the victory. Irving finished with 42 points on 15-of-22 shooting while LeBron James had 34 points with six assists.

Kevin Love added 17 points and 17 rebounds. Boston had another nice balanced attack on offense, with Avery Bradley putting up 19 points to lead the team. Jae Crowder added 18 points and eight rebounds.

NBA PREDICTION

Boston has looked better in this series without Isaiah Thomas. The defense has improved a great deal and the offense hasn’t suffered too much due to Cleveland’s lackluster defensive effort.

Still, Cleveland can finish things off tonight and I think they will play well on the road. They are 5-0-1 against the spread on the road in the NBA Playoffs, including two covers at Boston. Look for Cleveland to continue to play better on the road than it does at home.

NBA Prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers -10
