NBA Prediction: Can the Wizards upset the Celtics in Game 5? 5/10/17

GAME 5 ODDS
According to oddsmakers, Boston is the favorite at home, as the Celtics are getting odds of -4.5 points against the Wizards. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 216 points.
RECORDS
Washington was able to even the series with a 121-102 victory at home in Game 4. The home team has won and covered the spread in all four games of this series.
Washington comes into today’s game 55-37 overall, 20-26 on the road and 47-44-1 against the spread. Boston is 59-33 overall, 33-13 at home and 46-44-2 against the spread.
GAME 4 RECAP
The Celtics got an early lead on the Wizards, but Washington closed out strong. A 42-20 third quarter allowed the Wizards to pick up another sizable win at home on Sunday. Washington shot 44-of-84 from the field and 9-of-21 from 3-point land. They had 29 assists on their 44 field goals as well.
John Wall had 27 points with 12 assists and five steals to lead the Wizards while Bradley Beal had 29 points. Isaiah Thomas had 19 points to lead the Celtics, but didn’t get much help from his fellow starters. Al Horford was the next leading scorer in that group with just 11 points.
NBA PREDICTION
I’ll continue to stand by the idea that Washington is the better team in this series. The Wizards should be up 3-1, but had a meltdown at the end of Game 2. The home team has been dominant in the series, but Washington looks to be the team more likely to steal a road game.
The Wizards were angered by the Celtics during Game 2 and that led to two dominant wins at home. Other than perhaps a rising performance from Thomas, I don’t think the Celtics have the playmakers to compete with Washington regularly. I am going to continue to ride the Wizards in this series. I truly believe they will take a game at Boston.
