NBA Prediction: Can the Rockets bounce back vs. the Spurs? 5/5/17

Mavericks at Spurs

Will the Houston Rockets bounce back against the San Antonio Spurs when the series moves to Houston for Game 3 tonight at 9:30PM ET? Here’s our NBA Prediction for Friday.

GAME 3 ODDS

According to oddsmakers, the Rockets are favored at home tonight, as they are getting odds of -4.5 points against the Spurs. The over/under total for the game is listed at 213.5 points.

RECORDS

The Spurs were able to even this series at 1-1 with a 121-96 victory at home in Game 2 on Wednesday. San Antonio has now won four of its last five meetings with the Rockets.

Houston is now 60-29 overall, 33-11 at home and 46-43 against the spread. San Antonio is 66-24 overall, 31-12 on the road and 46-42-2 against the spread.

GAME 2 RECAP

The Rockets didn’t have their same shooting touch in Game 2 as they did in Game 1. In Wednesday’s loss, the Rockets were just 11-of-34 from 3-point land. James Harden really struggled, going 3-of-17 from the field and 2-of-9 from 3-point land for just 13 points. He did have 10 assists, but it wasn’t enough.

The Spurs got their usual effort from Kawhi Leonard, who had 34 points with seven rebounds and eight assists. Tony Parker added 18 points, but suffered a season-ending knee injury in the victory.

NBA PREDICTION

Game 2 saw the Spurs get a little offensive help for Leonard and the Rockets struggle shooting. I don’t see the same combination happening tonight in Game 3. The loss of Parker takes one more scoring option away from San Antonio. Losing a guard against this Rockets team also doesn’t help.

James Harden should come back very strong after an awful outing on Wednesday. Look for him to put up big numbers at home and lead the Rockets to a big win.

NBA Prediction: Houston Rockets -4.5
