NBA Finals Prediction: Can the Warriors roll in Game 2 vs. Cavs? 6/4/17
Will the Golden State Warriors hammer the Cleveland Cavaliers once again when the two meet up in Game 2? Here’s our NBA Finals Prediction for tonight’s 8PM ET contest.
GAME 2 ODDS
According to oddsmakers, the Warriors are the favorite at home tonight, as they are getting odds of -8.5 points against the Cavaliers. The over/under total for the game is listed at 220.5 points.
RECORDS
Golden State took Game 1 of the series on Thursday night with a 113-91 win at home. The Warriors have covered the spread in both games at home against Cleveland this season.
Golden State is now 80-15 overall, 43-5 at home and 49-43-3 against the spread. Cleveland is 63-33 overall, 27-22 on the road and 44-48-4 against the spread.
GAME 1 RECAP
The Warriors cruised in Game 1 of the series, not so much because their offense was dominant, but that Cleveland was awful offensively. The Cavs committed 20 turnovers and shot just 30-of-86 from the field and 11-of-31 from 3-point land. Golden State was much better with the ball, turning the ball over just four times. They only shot 45-of-106 from the field and 12-of-33 from the arc. They actually missed a lot of good looks, as Cleveland wasn’t up to snuff on defense.
Kevin Durant had a big game, scoring a game-high 38 points with 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Stephen Curry added 28 points and 10 assists. LeBron James had 28 points with 15 rebounds and 8 assists, but he also had 8 turnovers.
NBA FINALS PREDICTION
The Cavs should be better on offense tonight, especially with the turnovers. The problem for them is, Golden State can also get a lot better on offense. The Warriors didn’t shoot the ball all that well and still won by 22 points.
Cleveland’s defense isn’t likely to get a lot better throughout this series. The Cavs been a poor defensive team most of the season. If they continue to give the Warriors open looks, it’s going to be an ugly series.
