NASCAR Predictions: Who will win the Pure Michigan 400? 8/13/17

NASCAR Predictions

The 2017 NASCAR Monster Energy Series is set to wave the green flag on the Pure Michigan 400 later today. Here are some drivers we like to contend for the win, our NASCAR Predictions for the race.

PURE MICHIGAN 400 ODDS

According to oddsmakers, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. are co-favorites this week, as each has 9/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Kyle Larson (5/1) and Brad Keselowski (7/1). The Pure Michigan 400 takes place today at 3PM ET from Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan.

NASCAR PREDICTIONS

KYLE LARSON

Kyle Larson won the spring race at Michigan and he also won the summer race last year, making him the two-time defending champion at MIS. He also finished third in the spring race of 2016. This track just seems to suit him very well. His driver rating of 100.7 ranks third in today’s field and his average finish 12.3. Larson should have another strong run today as he looks to get back near the points lead.

CHASE ELLIOTT

Chase Elliott comes into today with 9/1 odds to win, but it’s hard to ignore the success he has had at this track. Elliott has yet to win at MIS, but he has finished second in all three races he’s had their in his career. Once could be a fluke, but three times is a trend. He has the top driver rating in the field at MSI with a 119.0 driver rating. Look for Elliott to have another strong run today and possibly breakthrough for the win.

DALE EARNHARDT JR.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. isn’t having a good final year, but today could help him get on track. He has 50/1 odds to win this race, but it’s at a track that he has two wins in his career. He also finished ninth here earlier this year, which was his third-best finish of 2017. His driver rating of 95.5 at MIS ranks sixth in today’s field. I don’t think Dale Jr. wants to have his final season be this lackluster, so I expect him to be aggressive today. I think his 50/1 odds gives him great value.
