According to the latest oddsmakers, Martin Truex Jr. is favored to win this race, as he has +225 odds. Other short odds to win are Kyle Busch (+350), Kyle Larson (+550) and Kevin Harvick (+600). The AAA Texas 500 takes place today at 2PM ET from Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.
NASCAR PREDICTIONS
MARTIN TRUEX JR.
Martin Truex Jr. has been the best driver in 2017, regardless of how the rest of the season plays out. He has seven victories this year and could use an eighth to punch his ticket into the final race of the season. Truex Jr. has never won at Texas in his career, but he has a 94.1 driver rating at the track. Truex has finished eighth or better in his last four runs at this track. I think Truex puts on another show today.
BRAD KESELOWSKI
Brad Keselowski is a driver that could use a win today as well. He is currently third in the point standings, but that can still change. Keselowski could use a strong run today to really secure his spot in the final race of the season. A three-time winner this year, Keselowski is seeking his first win at Texas, but he has four top-10 finishes there in his career. I think Keselowski puts on a strong run today and with +1200 odds, he has great value.
DENNY HAMLIN
Denny Hamlin is listed with +1500 odds today but that is great value for a two-time champion at this track. Hamlin is seventh in the standings right now and needs a strong run today, so that makes him a little more desperate and a little more aggressive. Hamlin has two wins this year and I think he can make it a third today. He has the history and the extra motivation.
