PITCHING MATCHUP
The pitching matchup tonight has Luis Cessa (0-3, 4.18 ERA) pitching for the Yankees to face Bartolo Colon of the Twins. Colon is making his first start for the Twins. He started 13 games for the Braves this season, allowing 57 earned runs in 63 innings with 42 strikeouts, 20 walks and a 1.78 WHIP. Cessa has started three games and appeared in six. He has given up 11 earned runs over 23.2 innings and has 17 strikeouts with seven walks and a 1.35 WHIP.

These two opened the series on Monday night and the Twins picked up a 4-2 victory at home. Minnesota is 47-45 overall and 21-28 at home. The Yankees are now 47-44 overall and 21-27 on the road.
MONDAY’S RECAP
The Twins got two runs in the eighth inning on Monday to come away with the win. Adalberto Mejia pitched 5.1 innings and allowed just one run while the bullpen gave up only one run over 3.2 innings. Caleb Smith gave up two runs in three innings of relief work to take the loss. Eddie Rosario had a pair of doubles and drove in two runs to lead the Twins while Brian Dozier also had a pair of hits. Garrett Cooper had three hits to lead the Yankees in the loss.
MLB PREDICTIONS
The Twins escaped with a win on Monday and I think they can get the upset again tonight. Colon hasn’t been good this year, but perhaps a little time off and a switch to the AL can help him. Not many of the Yankee hitters have seen his stuff, so Colon may be able to put together a competitive performance. The Twins should be able to hit Cessa, who hasn’t lasted long in games and gives up plenty of runs. The New York bullpen may not be able to stop the bleeding in time.
