MLB Predictions: Will Reds’ struggles continue vs. Brewers? 4/25/17
Will the Reds’ struggles continue versus the Brewers when the National League Central rivals clash at 7:40PM ET?
The Odds
According to oddsmakers, the Brewers are -117 money line favorites to beat the Reds. Cincinnati, meanwhile, has odds of +107 to pull off the upset tonight in Milwaukee after losing 11-7 on Monday. As for the over/under, the number sits at 9 runs.
Feldman to toe rubber for Reds
Scott Feldman will make his fifth start of the season tonight for the Reds. Through four games he owns one win but has two quality starts. Over his 22 2/3 combined innings, he has allowed six earned runs and owns an impressive 2.38 ERA. He allowed one run on four hits over seven innings in Thursday’s no-decision against Baltimore. Feldman struck out four in the process.
Brewers counter with Davies
Zach Davies will oppose Feldman in tonight’s pitching matchup. He owns a brutal 8.24 ERA anda 2.34 WHIP over 19 2/3 innings of work this season. In four outings, Davis has zero quality starts and has walked 10 batters while striking out 16. That said, he did collect his first win of the season last Thursday against the Cardinals. He allowed four runs on eight hits with two walks across 5 1/3 innings.
MLB Predictions
Given the pitching matchup, the Reds are worth a flier as an underdog. Cincinnati has won four of its last five road games and is 4-1 in its last five road games versus a right-handed starter. The Reds have also won five of their last seven road games when facing a team with a losing record.
Conversely, the Brewers are just 1-4 in Davies’ last five starts coming off four days of rest and are winless at 0-4 in his last four outings after scoring five runs or more in their previous game. Milwaukee has lost 10 of its last 14 home games as well.
Take the Reds +107
