The Pitching Matchup: Scott Feldman (CIN) vs. Jake Odorizzi (TB)
In his last outing, Feldman allowed four earned runs on eight hits in a start last Tuesday against the Padres. He also walked two and struck out six in five innings. Feldman threw 55 of his 92 pitches for strikes and was unable to build upon the momentum of his previous start when he allowed four hits and no walks over seven scoreless innings versus the Cardinals. As for Odorizzi, the 27-year-old allowed five runs (three earned) over 4 1/3 innings against the Blue Jays last Wednesday. Most of the damage against Odorizzi came in the fifth inning when Kendrys Morales hit a three-run home run. Odorizzi then surrendered five hits and three walks while striking out four batters. He now owns a 3.77 ERA over 62 innings and 12 starts.
