The Pitching: Matt Moore (SF) vs. Jeff Hoffman (COL)

In his last outing, Moore gave up four runs in six innings last Friday in a loss to the Twins. He allowed a three-run double to opposing starter Ervin Santana after walking Jason Castro to load the bases with two outs in the fourth. Moore is now 2-7 on the year with a 5.28 ERA.

Hoffman, meanwhile, allowed just one run in 6 1/3 innings to beat the Cubs last Saturday. He registered eight strikeouts to just one walk and all four of the hits that he allowed were singles. The 24-year-old right-hander now owns a 2.33 ERA and has earned a win in all four of his starts. He owns a 34:3 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 27 frames this season.

The over is 7-0-1 in Moore’s last eight road starts and is 5-0 in his last five road outings versus a team with a winning record. In the Giants’ last eight games following a loss, the over is 6-1-1. In their last five road games, the over is 3-1-1.

On the other side, in the Rockies’ last 11 games when playing the opener of a series, the over is 7-22. The over is also 3-1-1 in their last five home games and is a near-perfect 4-1 in Hoffman’s last five starts versus National League West competition.
