MLB Predictions: Will under cash when Giants host Dodgers? 9/12/17
Will the under cash tonight for bettors when the Giants host the Dodgers at 10:15PM ET?
The Matchup: Dodgers vs. Giants, 10:15PM ET, AT&T Park
According to oddsmakers, Los Angeles is a -278 money line favorite to beat San Francisco tonight. That makes the Giants +220 money line underdogs to pull off the upset. The total, meanwhile, sits at 6.5 runs.
The Pitching Matchup: Clayton Kershaw (LAD) vs. Johnny Cueto (SFG)
Kershaw had a rare dud performance in his last outing, which came last Thursday night. He surrendered four runs on six hits over just 3 2/3 innings versus the Rockies. Kershaw still struck out seven but walked three in the shortened outing. Colorado jumped the ace quickly, collecting a pair of hits and then a three-run bomb from Nolan Arendo. All of that occurred before Kershaw even recorded an out.
On the other side is Cueto, who pitched five innings of one-run ball and struck out seven in a win over the Rockies last Wednesday. He’s looked sharp in his last two outings since returning from injury. Against the Rockies, he struck out seven and went without allowing a home run at Coors Field.
Our Prediction
This should be a pitcher’s duel tonight with Kershaw set to face Cueto. The under is 13-2-1 in Kershaw’s last 16 road starts versus the Giants. In Kershaw’s last 30 starts versus San Francisco, the under is also 22-6-2.
The under is also 5-2 in Kershaw’s last seven starts coming off of four days of rest. It is also 34-16-1 in his last 51 starts following a team loss in their previous game and is 4-0 in the Giants’ last four games versus an opponent with a winning percentage above .600. Despite Kershaw’s rough outing in his last start, he should bounce back tonight against a weak Giants offense. It’s unlikely a struggling Dodgers team figures out Cueto either.
Tuesday MLB Prediction: Dodgers/Giants under 6.5
