The Matchup: Giants vs. Dodgers, 10:10PM ET, Dodgers Stadium

San Francisco is 40-63 on the year and has split over its last 10 games. The Giants have struggled mightily all season but especially on the road, as they’ve posted an 18-34 mark away from AT&T Park.

Los Angeles enters play tonight having won eight of its last 10 games and is 71-31 on the year. The Dodgers have been virtually unbeatable at home this season, winning 44 of their 57 games at Dodger Stadium.

According to oddsmakers, Los Angeles is -280 to win tonight at home. That makes San Francisco a massive underdog at +240 to pull off the upset. As for the total, it hit the board at 8.5 but has been dropped to 8.

The Pitching Matchup: Matt Moore (SF) vs. Alex Wood (LAD)

Moore hasn’t earned a victory in over a month. He’s coming off a no-decision versus the Padres on July 22. In that outing, Moore pitched six innings, allowed four runs on seven hits and struck out seven without surrendering a walk.

Wood is 11-1 on the season and owns a 2.17 ERA over 91 1/3 innings of work. He’s coming off his first loss of the season in a 12-3 defeat versus the Braves on July 21. In that outing, Wood surrendered nine runs (seven earned) on nine hits over 4 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked four.

Our Prediction

The over is 10-3-2 in the Giants’ last 15 games overall, is 5-1-1 in their last seven divisional games, and is 8-2-1 in Moore’s last 11 road starts. On the other side, the over is 3-0-1 in the Dodgers’ last four games, is 3-0-1 in their last four home games, and is 5-0 in Wood’s last five home starts versus a team with a losing record.
