The Pitching Matchup: Robert Stephenson (CIN) vs. Lance Lynn (STL)
Stephenson picked up a victory after allowing one run in six innings last Tuesday against the Brewers. He walked five on the night but Milwaukee couldn’t make him pay for the free passes. Stephenson has now won four straight, allowing six earned runs in 22 2/3 innings during that span. He’s struck out 28 and walked 15 over that span.
Lynn, meanwhile, is coming off another dominating performance. He pitched well in a losing effort against the Padres last Thursday, allowing just one run on six hits over six innings pitched. He walked three and struck out three on the night. His one mistake came in the first inning when he allowed a Jose Pirela RBI single. Lynn is now 10-7 in the season and owns a 2.94 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP.

They’ve won seven of their last eight games, are 4-1 in their last five games against National League Central opponents, and are 4-1 in their last five home games.
On the other side, the Reds have dropped five of their last six road games versus a right-handed starter. They’re also 19-41 in their last 60 road games and are 0-4 in Stephenson’s last four starts after allowing five runs or more in their previous game.
