MLB Predictions: Are Cardinals a good bet to beat Reds? 4/28/17
Are the Cardinals a good bet to beat their NL Central rivals tonight when they host the Reds at 8:15PM ET?
The Odds
According to oddsmakers, the Cardinals have -150 odds on the money line to beat the Reds tonight at Busch Stadium. WIth Tim Adleman of the Reds set to oppose Lance Lynn of the Cardinals, the over/under currently sits at 8 runs. (The total opened at 8.5 before the number was bet down to 8.)
Adleman coming off solid outing
Adleman allowed two runs on four hits in a no-decision against the Cubs last Friday. He struck out seven across six innings of work while also giving up soli home runs to Javier Baez and Jason Heyward.
Otherwise, Adleman kept a dangerous Chicago lineup in check. After being lined up to start Wednesday against the Brewers, Adleman’s start was pushed back to tonight.
Lynn off to a good start for Cardinals
In four games this season, Lynn has two quality starts across 23 1/3 combined innings. He owns a 2.70 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP, with 20 strikeouts to eight walks. Lynn allowed a single run on just three hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over six innings last Saturday. Lynn has now allowed just one run through 13 innings of work.
